This photographic agency has opened its doors to our members. While participating in the CEPA program, members learn photography, interviewing and computer skills. Such things as pin-hole cameras, journals and painted murals are crafted by our members.
This art-in education organization is dedicated to making the arts a part of every young person's life. By placing an artist in residency at each location, members have been exposed to visual arts, theater, music, dance, and literature.
This year-round program encourages artistic expression among Club members ages 6-18 through drawing, painting, print making, collage, mixed media and sculpture. The artwork is displayed at local and regional exhibits where winning work is sent for inclusion in the National Fine Arts Exhibit at Boys & Girls Clubs of America's National Conference.
Club members participate in Boys & Girls Clubs of America's National Photography Contest in which they take pictures of whatever catches their eye, they name the picture and then it is submitted for judging. Last year, we had two third place winners.
Griffis Sculpture Park allows us to tour the park with a guided tour. This park has larger than life sculptures that members can climb on and learn the history of the maker of the art work and what inspired them to build the sculptures. They also complete several art programs within our Clubhouses. Youth learn how to create sculptures made from steel, pastels, print making, mixed media, and collage.
Members enjoy various plays at Art Park. This enables us to tap in to the member’s creative side and help them see if theatre is a career they would like to pursue.
