Job Ready!

Designed to build the essential skills in members interested in finding success in the world of work. This program helps members address a wide range of issues around finding, getting and keeping a job.

Power Hour

Helps members become self-direct learners. Power Hour offers three circuits:

  • Power Pages provides extra opportunity to practices skills.
  • Homework Program helps the member complete their homework assignments.
  • Tutoring Program helps members gain proficiency or excel in specific areas in individual or small group sessions.

Project Learn

Club staff use all the areas and programs in the Club to create opportunities for those "high-yield learning activities", which include leisure reading, writing activities, discussions with knowledgeable adults, helping others, homework help, tutoring and games like Scrabble® that develop young people's cognitive skills.

Goals for Growth

Teaches Club members ages 8-12 skills for setting and achieving goals, helps them identify their own strengths and enhances their self-esteem by reinforcing their progress and recognizing their success.

Skills Tutor

A computer based program that focuses on the individual youth's educational need. This program allows the youth to learn and test themselves in areas such as math, reading, English, science, and social studies. The staff are able to log on and obtain the youths scores and print out activity sheets to match the lesson each individual youth is completing.

Kinetic City After School

An informal program based on an interactive, episodic World Wide Web site developed by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. It is a web-based science program for students in grades 5-6 and is an ideal combination of engaging online animated adventures with bi-monthly boxes of hands-on science materials that guide children towards an understanding of standards-based science.
