The site, located at 16 Kenfield Court in the Langfield Homes, is BGCB’s 17th Site and second in public housing. Fully equipped with a computer room, games room, kitchen, arts & crafts and entertainment areas, and energetic staff, BGCB is opened its doors and is prepared to provide programming to an average of 65 members daily. Although starting out to serve members from ages 5-12 years old, BGCB will be expanding the program over the next year to include programs for Teenagers. The program will run Monday – Friday, 2:30 pm – 7:00 pm. LaSalle Courts Site MakeoverBoys & Girls Clubs of Buffalo entered into this partnership with BMHA 10 years ago, to open up our LaSalle Courts Site, located at 110 Blum Street. This Site is located in one of the toughest neighborhoods in the City. Many people who come from these circumstances are not offered the opportunity to succeed and become positive young adults. When we opened our doors so did the doors of opportunity. The results of this are children that are more respectful, college students and graduates, and a community that believes in us. In one night, all of that hope was taken away with one senseless act of vandalism in which various equipment was either stolen or completely destroyed. Rent-A-Center committed its resources to ensure the members at LaSalle had a safe place to go after school, and donated furniture, home entertainment equipment, and electronics valued at $12,000. A state of the art alarm system was also donated to the Club by an anonymous donor to ensure that everything Rent-A-Center has done would last a long time. |
